Horse Trough
Water is an essential element for horses. It is part of 99.2% of the molecules that make up the animal's organism. In addition, it serves for thermal balance by retaining body heat in cold weather, while facilitating its dispersion in hot weather. This is why it must remain available, at any time and in sufficient quantity, regardless of the season, because the horse loses its body water in several ways: urine, faeces, breathing and sweating. Clean water, not contaminated by chemicals, with a neutral taste and at a good temperature, will encourage the horse to drink the necessary amount for its proper maintenance*.
The best way to achieve this is to use either plastic water trough for horses (with or without float) with a capacity from 200 to 1000 liters, a water tank of 500 or 1300 liters on which a water bowl is attached, or individual drinkers, heated or antifreeze. All of an exceptional quality, which can be installed inside and outside and above all, durable. For livestock water trough and tanks, they are made of high-density polyethylene and treated for UV rays. The horse water troughs have the edges facing inwards to limit water waste and they have a large drain for easy cleaning. Horse troughs can be equipped with a float for automatic filling. For individual waterers, they are either made of high-quality enamelled cast-iron or ultra-resistant polyethylene, with valve or float valve, heated or not.
In short, if we apply small simple water control points, we make sure that horses does not become dehydrated. They will be able to live their life in health and in the end, you will certainly save veterinary costs! *Source: Dany Cinq-Mars, agronomist, Ph.D., Nutrition and Food, MAPAQ/Science and Technology Innovation department
